Kashgai is one of the most famous nomadic tribes in
Iran from the area south of Shiraz. The five nomads who settled
together in the late 1700s, has borne the name of the leading
genus. Originally they came from the Caucasus and speaks today still
Turkish. Kashgai carpets are among the finest, smoothest and most
valuable nomadic carpets. The quality is significantly higher than Shiraz
blankets.
Designs and colors: basic pattern is
often filled with a variable cover of stylized flowers, leaves,
animal and bird motifs. The background color is red in various shades
from rust to orange FURTHER of dark blue, yellow and beige.
