Tabriz is the capital of Azerbaijan, which lies in the northwestern mountainous areas in Iran. One is Tabriz Mahi, also called "Tabriz with fish pattern" (carpet leaf-shaped pattern is called "Mahi", which means "fish"). The second is Tabriz Nagsheh . Nagsheh means simply pattern and refers in this connection to the figurative patterns and symbols from Keshan and Isfahan, from which inspiration for Tabriz Nagsheh curtain is drawn.
Designs of Tabriz Mahi is the detailed sheet figure as highlighted by the significant use of silk thread. Often there is a small light medaillion and colors rustic earthy tones with dark blue and pink.
